"Sega Genesis - 1990 "Sega wanted me to cancel the release of Madden and repurpose it as Joe Montana Football because Sega's development team had failed. Bing Gordon wanted to do it, but I knew Madden was 'The Franchise,' so instead I convinced Sega to give us a $2 million check and we made both games. Both ended up in the top five that year.
