I hate that this game has to be labeled a "guilty pleasure" game. Sadly, it must. I'm a real guitar player and I told myself I would never succumb to playing a fake-plastic guitar, but I did. I love the Guitar Hero games. It really feels like Guitar Hero 5 they got everything right. It is the best party game I have and continually go back to.

Guitar Hero 5 has a great, extra long setlist. Somewhere upwards of 80+ songs are on the disc, and more can be imported from previous titles and/or downloaded to expand your song list. The initial collection is a great range of songs both in genre as well as difficulty, and there really is something for everyone; though some players complaints is there isn't enough of a certain type I take that as a compliment because if you just want death ” read more
"The ultimate party machine. I've put my World Tour setlist, the Band Hero setlist (yea for code trading), and several DLC packs into it. With over 200 songs, almost all of which I really do like even if they are easy; and the drop-in drop-out party play it really is great for friends who come over and want to jam."

"09 - A game with the best soundtrack
I know not everyone agreed with the soundtrack to this game, in fact some hate it for being well-rounded and ranging in all musical styles. Sorry hard rock / metal fans but I appreciate the diversity, you'll always have Guitar Hero III."

"2009
AHHHH!! 2009 was such a great year for video games, too many to choose from! I'm going to have to go with Guitar Hero 5 for a few reasons. For one thing, easily put the most hours of all my choices into this one. The party mode has been overplayed at my house it's not even funny. The soundtrack is well rounded and the import of my DLC from WT, plus more cool DLC, and I can import all the other GH games into this one make this game overloaded with awesomeness.
Runner Up:
Infamous
Flower

"Day 4 - Your guilty pleasure game
I swore I'd never play the guitar hero / Rock Band games; I currently own 4. I'm a real guitar player and I thought it was stupid to play with plastic guitar and press little colored buttons and think that was "music" but then I picked one up. I was hooked. This game has little to do with actual musicianship and more to do with just getting together with friends, throwing back a few beers, and having a dang good time."

"Difficulty - 6/10
This platinum actually isn't too bad if you're into guitar hero games, mostly time consuming. However if you aren't musically talented this could be much more difficult for you."

"I have tried to keep the music games on this list to a minimum because who wants to keep buying every iteration and keep paying $5 or whatever to transfer songs from the older versions... blah. Aside from sucking us dry, Guitar Hero 5 is a great mix of all genres. I prefer this one over the others for the drop-in/drop-out free play mode, the controls are a bit better than previous games, and the songlist. If you already have your favorite music game this can probably be skipped, but if you're lo"
