This game isn't quite as bad as its reputation makes it out to be. It's not a great game, mind you, but it's one of those games where the more you play it, the more you grow to appreciate it. The particular aspect of the game that I enjoy is how you feel like you're growing stronger as the game goes on. The first time you battle Jason, you barely do any damage and may not even survive the encounter. "

You know, I never really gave this game much credit...And it's honestly not as bad as its reputation makes it out to be. It's not a great game by any means, but it's one of those games where the more you play, the more you appreciate it. I particularly enjoy the aspect of the game that makes you feel like you're growing stronger as the game goes on. Surprisingly (or not, given that it comes from a 8-bit console, where the scaring possibilities were rather limited) it doesn’t try to scare you, but it makes you feel bad. So, not only you died (as you would in any game), but your friends died TOO! Do you feel guility? You’re responsible for their death! Now, go back and make sure you don’t lose again!"

"They give you "rocks" to defend against the immortal Jason Voorhes. Rocks are you serious!? Added bonus is that you play as one of the camp consulars who are just fit the prerequisite for a nice death by being rammed against a tree in a sleeping.(!) "
