Not just a game

FM Series are not just games they are life. Be careful Fm makes u unsocial but it worth of course. This version of Fm one of the best with 07 version. Process is very quick, match motor is quite successful, player attributes are very realistic. Also its very quick playing multiplayer. I'm still palying this version, not 09. 09 is sucks, worst Fm I've ever played. I hope Fm 2010 will be better than this but it seems impossible, because Fm 08 is unbeaten.

The Widow Maker

Whilst running the risk of becoming wildly unpopular with most of my male counterparts, and more recently some female ones. I feel it necessary to state a warning about this game.

If you enjoy spending time in the sunshine, if there is anyone you hold dear to you in your life or relish seeing then don’t begin to play this.
To me it appears as a reel of unfathomable lists, of ever changing unknown players and statistics but there is clearly much more hidden within it.
The only part that I can claim to enjoy is the status remark based on how many hours played; with ironic lines like; ‘Football manager should be added to your C.V.’ and ‘Remember to call work for more sick leave.’

Sigh, where did all those hours go.

Don't, as I did, begin this game when you have something important to do..I had exams on the way but could not escape from the games' grasp. It is utterly addictive and can make 7 hours seem like 7 minutes. There is no fast, first person action, no explosions.. in fact, the game sits there, as patient as a stone, leaving you to intermitently go get a coffee, try and remember how your legs work or force yourself to do some real work. You can even listen to music or watch a film at the same time. Much like, 2007, the game uses an immense data base of players and statistics to allow you to build and manage your own football team. Budgets, players and player statistics are unique to each team, as are the fan and board expectations. The sheer immensity of the data base alone is wor...Read more

The perpetual life drainer is back and better than ever. I've reviewed FM2007 on this site, and this is practically the same game with a few new features. This time around, a lot more fuss is made of the fans and their opinions and confidence in you and the players. I like the feature myself, with fans giving feedback on each game. They have also fully improved the match day build up and game by combining and bombarding you with all the information you could need in a few consecutive screens before each match. Changing tactics in the middle of a match is no longer met with a perilous wait and it is all incorporated almost in real time. My only beef with the game was the horrible white skin! It's blinding for those long stints. Luckily I've since found a darker one and all problems have ...Read more
