Flower is quite possibly one of the most unique games I've played and it's different from what every other game has to offer. ThatGameCompany do have a excellent creative team when they come to developing games.
Throughout this game it pretty much tells the motions of the developers with it's style and passion for the world and flowers. The gameplay is very simple you go around th... read more
I liked the original flOw flash game and when I heard that they were going to make a HD version of it for the PS3 I was thrilled to see the company succeed. Now from ThatGameCompany comes Flower which feels a little bit like flOw but still feels like it's own game.
Players take the role of a gust of wind which allows them to flow around picking up flower petals which causes the lev... read more
Very few games come along and "wow" me. I anticipated this game being absolutely amazing, but I still think it had me in awe of how wonderful it was when it was finally released. Flower is one of those games that makes you re-think what it means to be a video game and what it means to be art.

Flower expands the team's tradition of delivering simple gameplay, accessible controls and a medium to explore emotional chords uncommon in video games. In Flower, the surrounding environment, most often pushed to the background in games, is pulled to the forefront and becomes the primary "character." The player fades from an external and stressful world in the opening of this fresh and genuine game only for PS3, and journeys through beautifully vivid landscapes, changing the his surroundings and exploring nature along the way. Playing as the wind, the player guides and grows a swarm of pedals by interacting with other flowers and the surrounding environment. The goals and journey in each level vary, but all involve flight, exploration and interaction with the level. Using simple SIXAXIS wireless controls, the player guides the lead petal and accumulates a swarm of flower petals as he moves at his own pace within the environment, causing the on-screen world to change. Flower's gameplay offers different experiences, pacing and rhythm to all players. Along the way, the environment will pose challenges to the player's progress. Both pastoral and at times chaotic, Flower is a visual, audio and interactive escape on PS3.... (more)(less)

"
Flower has very relaxing and unique gameplay where you control the wind to collect flower petals and pollinate the land. Despite the environmental themes, I'm not sure if there is any meaningful theme beyond the experience of the game; maybe that's why Flower is such a refreshing experience.
There is no extra level for getting all of the secret flowers.
Time: about 3 hours"

Flower is a relaxing game. You cannot die, and you cannot lose. You are the wind and you must pick up flower petals to open new areas in order to find the final flower "whirlwind" that finishes the level. You press any button to "blow" the wind, but in order to control it's direction you must tilt your sixaxis controller. This is the ingenuity of the game. The beauty lies in the level design and art.
The controls are spot on. Having not really used the sixaxis before, a lot of peop” read more
"This game isn't for everyone. It was definitely for me, though. A lot of the reviews I read used words like emotional, beautiful, art. They were all right. This game, simple and meandering as it is, was so soothing, refreshing, and by the end empowering, I couldn't possibly describe what I was feeling. My only wish is that it was longer; while I am still playing through it and exploring, I'm completely finished with the "plot" aspect after the first day I got it. This is a game that would have b"
"The "gameplay" became repetitive as the game went on. I appreciate the occasional story strokes but overall it just doesn't resonate with me in any way. A pretty game, I guess."
