Wow, it's been 2 years since I last played a Final Fantasy game, and it was also a remake (Final Fantasy III).
This remake brings a very charm character design and with great voice acting, that gets your attention in every cut scene.

Unlike the many subsequent ports (to Playstation, GameBoy Advance, etc.), this release is a full remake, programmed from scratch with real-time 3D graphics. The characters have a "super-deformed" touch. There is also voice acting during cut-scenes. A new option has been added to the menu, which allows the player to read a conversation between party members and receive advice from them.
It also features many gameplay additions. The difficulty level has been increased, not only beyond the difficulty of the Western SNES release (which was reduced compared to Japanese original and subsequent ports), but even beyond the original difficulty. The party members are still bound by class, but they can now hunt for so-called "augments", which can be found or stolen from enemies and which grant the characters additional bonus abilities, resistances, spells that their class would normally not allow, etc.
Beside those major changes, there are also plenty of minor additions. It is possible to obtain bonus items after exploring every corner and filling 100% of an area map; Rydia, the summoner girl, has a new monster summon who can be customized in various ways; there is a new quest involving the "naming" moogle of the original game, etc.... "
Final Fanasy IV on the DS is probably one of the most impressive remakes I have ever played. It was still the same good old Final Fantasy IV (II on the SNES) but with better graphics, competent voice acting, great visuals and expanded gameplay elements. From all the version of FFIV, I highly recommend this one as its story, the game's best feature, is enhanced by its voice acting and emotive character designs while still getting the same good gameplay."

"Considering the classic part, there isnt much else to write here, that doesnt change much in background majority, but well still part of the classic saga"

I didn't play the original game, so I can't tell the differences and adaptations from either versions (or even the PSOne "remake")... but I will point some detail that I found really interesting:
- The plot isn't anything out of common, in fact, it is really cliché, full of that stuff about Crystals that Final Fantasy loves. But the game is very successful when developing their characters, where everyone (even if for a small portion of the game) has the opportunity to tell their story, develop and conclude them.
"Four elemental Crystals, each possessing awesome power, lie scattered throughout the realm. However, men are quick to covet things which offer strength, and easily corrupted by the might which they possess. Seduced by the promised power of the Crystals, the kingdom of Baron begins employing unprovoked force to seize them from peaceful nations. The dark knight Cecil - Lord Captain of Baron's elite force, the Red Wings - is ordered by his king to obtain the Crystals, but soon begins to question th"
