The most important change in this release was made to "Final Fantasy IV". The difficulty level and the complexity of gameplay were raised to match the original Japanese version (unlike the "simplified" US SNES release, erroneously entitled "Final Fantasy II"). The game also got a new translation. In addition, there are CG videos in the beginning and in the end of the game.
"Chrono Trigger" underwent less changes. Gameplay and story remain the same, but some animé-style sequences were added, and there are some extras available (music tracks, viewing the animé movies, etc.).... (more)(less)

Chrono Trigger has the same animated cut scenes as the DS version.
Final Fantasy IV was remade for PSP with more detailed graphics (the PSP version isn't 3d)."
"Compilation of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV.
Port History: SNES-PS1-DS (Chrono Trigger)
Notable to this port is animated cutscenes, gallery mode, and script tweaks.

"Time played: a few hours on both FF4 and Chrono Trigger.
Chances of Completion: Probably slim since both games require quite a bit of time to complete. Only hope is to separately beat either game with their respective DS version since I make more progress on a handheld."

"This is another PlayStation compilation of classic SNES games. While Anthology consisted of FFV and FFVI, Chronicles has Final Fantasy IV, known as Final Fantasy II for the SNES, and Chrono Trigger, a big Square RPG hit similar to, but unrelated to the Final Fantasy universe. And just like Anthology, many new cut scenes have been added to both titles.
