Your shields won't take too much either, so be sure to race down the repair strips on the side of the track near the start/finish line after every lap. And if that's not enough for you, land mines, magnets and holes in the tracks will create havoc on your hovercar.... (more)(less)

This game is pretty fun but I prefer a lot more racing games, like Jet Set Radio Future and Mario Kart. This would have been more fun if there was multiplayer.
Completion: uncompleted. I didn't finish any of the grand prix tournements.
Time: about 20 minutes"

""To be honest I’m not too big on racing games but as one of the earlier titles for the Super Nintendo F-Zero is pretty essential to any self-respecting collection. The only Nintendo developed racer that really gives it a run for it money or can even surpass it is Mario Kart 64. That aside it’s really hard to find anything at fault with F-Zero which definitely adds to its overall charm.""
"This is a hallmark of SNES, if you don't have this game for the SNES then I pity you. I think this is one of the best racers on the system. It has FX chip graphics, awesome music, intense racing gameplay, and it is very simplistic to play. Who does not like racing super fast space ships on the most dangerous tracks in the galaxy. The only thing I wish was in this game was more of a story, I think that would make this game a lot better, but that just might be me."
"When I was like 7 or so my babysitter brought his SNES over with this game. Yeah, he was the cool babysitter, he also brought over his gameboy, Star Wars toys, and the Princess Bride. Anyway, we played the heck out of this game whenever he brought it over."

I really couldn't get enough racing on this game back when it came out. I remember a friend bringing his SNES over just so I could play it when it was new. Futuristic racing is still a dream but this game totally holds up.
Runner Up:
Final Fantasy II (IVj)"
