It's been 10 years since the release of Silicon Knights' Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem on the Nintendo Gamecube, and I'm a little ashamed to admit that this was my first play of the game. That isn't to say it's the first I'd heard of it. On the contrary, I felt compelled to write this review because of how much I'd read prior to playing. Throughout the game, you will have access to several projectile and melee weapons, such as swords, torches, shotguns, and pistols.
ED features a unique Magick system, which requires you to combine different Runes to create different magick spells. Some of these spells are Restoration, Bind, and others that will aid you in your quest.
ED has a unique feature called Sanity. If an enemy sees you, your Sanity level drops. When your Sanity gets low, weird things start to happen. "A game that is underrated.
This is a brilliantly atmospheric psychological horror influenced by Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft. The story is almost as immersive as Poe's short stories;the innovative sanity effects really pull you into the game and are sometimes terrifying."
