Why it's here: I adore how the Donkey Kong Country games did some entrancingly new and original things with the Super Nintendo's visuals. They were a big evolutionary step forward in gaming that enthralled me with their otherworldly look, novel gameplay, and beautifully moody music.
I consider "Donkey Kong Country 2" one of the best examples of a sequel that delivers everything great about its predecessor and more. No games look quite like the Donkey Kong Country g"

Donkey Kong Country 2 saw big, ol' DK tossed out in favor of some girlish charm in the form of Dixie. The result was, quite possibly, the best game in the Donkey Kong Country series. The fantastic levels were both beautiful to look at and well-designed, often requiring teamwork between the Diddy and Dixie to obtain the secrets found in each stage. The music was just as good, maybe better than the music fo"

""Like a lot of other games included in this list, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest is another game that I have very fond memories of playing in the past but am unsure if current-day realities coincide with those recollections. An intriguing proposition to be sure, the game does sport my favorite Kong team in Diddy and Dixie and pretty much makes it my favorite of the three game trilogy.""
"This is the best Donkey Kong of the series to me, just barely, and I mean barely beating out the original; the third is hokey. Great music, introduction of dixie kong, amazing platformer, cool level designs, awesome graphics, and the ability to throw diddy kong. I have never met a single person who didn't like playing a donkey kong game, they could get mad at the game for being tricky/difficult, but never hated it. I mean who doesn't like monkeys? "

"
The songs in DKC 2 felt either very dramatic, serious and epic or just very beautiful and soothing. I had so much fun playing this game, especially because I had always preferred Diddy Kong over Donkey Kong and because Dixie could float with her pigtail."

"The first Donkey Kong I ever played. I still think this game has the best music ever put into a game. The levels and challnge this game packed if you wanted to fully complete it was high but not so high as to you couldn't beat it. It was spawned from another classic but I rate this one higher because of playing it first and just enjoying the stages and characters more."
