I freaking love this game! Everything about this game is perfect. If I could only have one game to play for the rest of my life (and assuming I could still play online) it would be this game. The story, the characters, the gameplay, even the now-old-school graphics; everything is just made of awesome.

The game is set in Star Wars universe and its events occur after the second trilogy (Episodes IV to VI). Once again, you play the role of Kyle Katarn, a former mercenary, and now an ally of the rebels. Kyle discovers that he is in fact a Jedi, and is on a quest to find his lightsaber and to learn the techniques of the Force. The evil Sith lord Jerec, who was responsible for the death of Kyle's father, is on a quest of his own, searching a mythical place called Valley of the Jedi, where his dark powers could be unleashed. Will Kyle be able to stop Jerec and become a true Jedi, without falling to the dark side?
This is a first-person shooter that lets you switch to third-person perspective. You can use blasters and rifles to take care of your enemies, and later in the game you'll also be able to participate in lightsaber duels. You can also use Force powers, both of light and dark kind. The game has a branching storyline with different endings, and your decisions can lead you to the light as well as to the dark side (for example, killing innocents will add you "dark points"). The game features videos with live actors as cut scenes.... (more)(less)

"
One of my favorite Star Wars games that explored not only a first-person shooter, which is what it primarily is, but also utilizing the powers of the force. I tended to stay on the Light side of the force, but it's nice that in the game, you can choose which path you wish to take. Staying true to either path allowed you to unlock a bonus skill as well. All-in-all, this was one amazing game. If you enjoy Star Wars games, this should be on your shelf."

"My only good memories of middle school are this game. I bought this game on a whim, I'd never heard of it, I just bought it cuz it was Star Wars. My life is forever changed. Get home from school, play this game on the MSN Gaming Zone, kick butt."

"Jan Ors
Jan saves Kyle's butt too many times not to make this list. She was a hardworking woman who could fix anything and she was still really attractive even in a dirty old flight suit. For those who don't know this is Angela Harry.

It comes down to this and Final Fantasy VI, Jedi Knight wins on the principle of if I was stuck on a deserted island (and had internet connection) and had only one game to play for the rest of my life, it would be this one. Story, characters, gameplay, lightsabers, force powers, everything is awesome. Then you throw in the online play and I'd be set for life, as long as people still got on and played with me. Yes I know it's an older game, but I would still play this online if other people did "
"01: Favorite ♂ character
Kyle Katarn - He is just too awesome for this game. His Dad is dead, his Dad's best friend basically teaches him how to become a Jedi from the afterlife, and he takes on 7 dark Jedi.

The characters were all new to me when I first bought this game. I had not played Dark Forces so I had no idea who this Kyle Katarn guy was. Fortunately, they hired REAL people to act out the cut-scenes for this game so learning who Kyle is was no problem. Kyle's partner Jan is also pretty cool but somewhat forgettable in this game (she's more prominent in Jedi Outcast). But what game do you know has SEVEN antagonist's? Yeah, 7 dark Jedi are out to stop you and/or kill you from find” read more

To those who use this list idea for themselves, picking a PC game is probably going to be the hardest. For me it's another no-brainer. Jedi Knight is and probably always will be my favorite game of all time for the characters, story, gameplay, and multiplayer."

"1997
I picked this game up on a whim as well just because it was Star Wars and was saying how awesome force powers were. I am so happy I did. This game is by far the best Star wars game to ever grace this earth. Great storyline, characters, game-play is spot on, endless mods that came out for it, hired actors for the cut-scenes; it did not get better than Jedi Knight.
Runner Up:
Mario Kart 64
X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Final Fantasy VII"

Jan Ors saves Kyle Katarn's butt more times than I can count. Not to mention she's attractive. I like Jedi Knight because there is that little bit of love tension between the two, but it doesn't overshadow the rest of the story. It actually takes a backseat, as it should, until the next game after this one. Jan is cool too because if you choose to play as a Dark Jedi you *SPOILER* get to kill her! Yeah, Kyle's a jerk when he goes dark, but for all the power of the Valley of Jedi he had to make "

"The most awesome and epic Star Wars game to ever grace this earth! Not only was it a FPS, but we could now use lightsabers, force powers, online pwning, and real actors with real cinematic cutscenes! Not to mention a good plot, character development, and all that other important stuff that makes a good story. The game also implemented a split story where the characters actions determined whether Kyle Katarn would choose the light side or dark side of the force, each with their own story arc and "
