" From an independent game stand point, Bastion seems like the most ambitious and highly funded indie game I've seen. The art design is gorgeous, the soundtrack is amazing, one of the best I've heard in gaming and its narrative is somewhat quite relaxing, all thanks to the baritone narrator throughout the game. The gameplay can be hit and miss at points as the isometric view can hinder where or when you attack and move, especially in combat."

" Bastion is a pretty fun and sometimes funny hack and slash RPG. Bastion was designed and written by my favorite gaming critic. I was expecting this game would make me cry because it was suggested to me by Reddit, but I'm not going to add it to my list of games that made me cry, because although the choices were poignant and thought-provoking, and the story's great, Bastion didn't make me cry.

“There were three things that I really liked about this game - the unique art, the narrator's voice, and the outlandish music. The story is definitely what kept me inclined to play, for some reason I wasn't getting into the gameplay mechanics, polished as they were. The combat was consistently peppered with new weapons to keep things from getting old and you were rarely severely punished for letting your health drop to 0, or tumbling off ledges - which I did a lot of.
