updates as watche/rewatched "full metal jacket" i had never seen this before and have heard how great it was as a war movie. i suppose some of that honor given to it made me have high expectations which didn't fully get met. its a very good movie. for me, a few things seemed a bit overdone or somewhat unbelievable. for instance the high points of two major parts of the movie. the 'slow' soldier in the 'head' while pretty stunning it struck me as odd the dorm guard who paces the room seems surprised to find him in the 'head'. how did he not know he was there and with his rifle? the reaction of the 3 characters in the scene are way over the top and not very convincing. then the final scene where the troops have found and wounded a sniper. convincing would be if they shot the sni...Read more
