Disappointing, but not without redeeming

Too long, some weird choices in acting and character development, but nonetheless equally exciting, funny, sad and scary. Far superiors, of course, to the dreadful Kong from the 70s.

Okay, so I am a few years late in finally getting around to seeing this movie, but boy, am I glad I did! Excellent all around movie. I was quite impressed with it in every respect, and I really enjoyed it. Yes, it is a long film, but definitely worth watching at least once, if not more! Full of action, drama, and some really touching scenes between Naomi Watts and King Kong.

Naomi Watts stars as Ann Darrow, a vaudeville actress down on her luck in Depression-era New York until manic filmmaker Carl Denham (a game but miscast Jack Black) entices her with a lead role.
