David Guetta released his debut single, "Just a Little More Love", featuring American singer Chris Willis, in June 2001. It was succeeded by the DJ's debut studio album of the same name which debuted at number-six on the French Albums Chart. A further three singles were released from the album, "Love Don't Let Me Go" and "People Come People Go", both featuring Chris Willis and then "Give Me Something" featuring Barbara Tucker. Four singles were released from it: "Money" and "Stay", both featuring Chris Willis, and "The World Is Mine" and "In Love with Myself" both featuring JD Davis. Guetta gained initial international success in August 2006, when "Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away)" a mash-up between his track "Love Don't Let Me Go" and The Egg's "Walking Away" was released, peaking at number three in the United Kingdom; also charting in Australia, Germany, Ireland and Sweden.
June 2007 saw the DJ release his third studio album, Pop Life, which having peaked at number-two in France, quickly attained platinum status. Four other singles were also released from the album: "Baby When the Light" featuring Cozi, "Delirious" featuring Tara McDonald, "Tomorrow Can Wait" and "Everytime We Touch" - a collaboration with Swedish DJs Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.
The DJ attained international success in April 2009, when single "When Love Takes Over" featuring singer Kelly Rowland reached the top ten worldwide, also earning Guetta his first number-one single in Ireland, Italy, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, amongst others. It was succeeded by the single "Sexy Bitch" featuring Akon, which topped the charts in eight different countries, also managing to peak at number-five on the Billboard Hot 100, Guetta's first big hit in the United States. A fourth studio album, One Love followed in August 2009 - peaking at number-one on the French Albums Chart and reaching the top five in Australia and the United Kingdom.
