Was in a relationship with Matt Dillon for three years. They met in 1995 while both were working on location in Minnesota (she was filming Feeling Minnesota (1996); he was filming Beautiful Girls (1996). He appeared with her in There's Something About Mary (1998) before they broke up in December 1998.

'Men are wonderful. I don't think my feeling about that is ever going to change. I'm never going to feel differently about men. I'm not a man-hater. It's just not in my nature.
