A beautiful - and tragic - novel. I loved it.

Of Mice And Men review
I can't say I'm too fond of it since it was forced upon me, yet I was still drawn to it. Despite having the ending ruined for me long ago, I still read it at a somewhat feverish pace because I was truly curious about these characters despite knowing what happens in the end.
Since it was written to be made as a play from my understanding, we aren't really privy to the thoughts of any of the characters and there's plenty of descriptions of the background in the beginning of each chapter, but that's really not noticeable unless someone goes and points it out. And it's also quite odd that the one female character in the whole novel is never given a name. But perhaps that's a byproduct of the setting.
Although I didn't like it much, but I found the dialogue between George and Lennie quite humorous. If anything, it's worth it for that. And oh yeah, the theme of the novel is people are lonely and world is cold. Yeah, that's the book in a nutshell.
