If Kisses Were Bullets takes a unique step into what had been considered charted territory. There are several books out there where you must read several peoples stories to uncover what really happened or when you read two peoples thoughts to see each side of the coin. While at first glance it may appear that H.X. Sin is following the leader within five pages of reading you'll soon understand that this is book is nothing like you've read before. The two parts of this story are from the perspective of the same character in two different parts of his life. since the back cover doesn't show up I thought I paste it here.
A dark satire, splattered with love, a drop of blood and a splash of mystery. The antagonist lives a normal life except that people around him keep dying, and the girls he's with prefer to have sex with other guys. Even after his writing career takes off, the world continues to conspire against him. Is there some sort of master plan or is he insane? Follow along as the story twists around love, loss, pain and fame. See what it takes to have nothing, have everything, be happy and be crazy. Partly based on actual events.

At first glance the book reads like a coming of age story where the character has to “come of age” twice because he messed it up the first time. This is ironic because as you come upon the plot, a series of murders, in the late stages of the book you begin to wonder if you missed something. Re-reading the book for clues to the murders makes you feel a bit like the main character having to start over. The best and worst thing about this book is that it relies heavily on the assumption that you will read it again but if you’re willing to ignore the standard conventions you’ll find yourself lost inside the pages.
