"Before I had read Batman: Year One, I was recommending that this is the one Batman story they had to read, if they had to read only one. I now stand corrected, but this is still a superb story in it's own right."

"This one sometimes gets mixed reviews. Apparently, even Moore himself has admitted it wasn't his best. OK, maybe it isn't mind-blowing, but it's a single issue. It's a real challenge to tell a complete, beginning to end story in a single issue, much less something compelling, different, and containing some degree of literary merit.
