ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS...you need to read this book even for this sentence.

Ogni animale allude a un personaggio realmente esistito (Palladineve è Trotskij, Jones è... read more

Description: It is an analogy of the Russian Revolution. The story is told through the eyes of animals that overthrow their drunken farmer. The animals then make rules for the farm and all starts off well. The pigs quickly rise to power. The two main pigs, Napoleon and Snowball, vie for control. Then Napoleon raises two litters of puppies an ... (more)

Ranking Every Book I've Ever Read/Reading List (173 books items)

"This is how you write an allegory; clear, easy-to-understand symbols that still manage to avoid the territories of gross unsubtlety and insulting to the reader, and a story that serves both the purpose of expressing the author's ideals and giving you something to simply enjoy as story"

Books I read in 2009 (13 books items)

"After reading Mystic River, one of my friends told me about George Orwell and his contributions to Literature. He told me about this allegorical satire of Totalitarianism which immediately caught my interest. I would later read Nineteen Eighty-Four which would emotionally satisfy me more so than this novel. However, Animal Farm demonstrated the possibilities of allegorical novels and symbolism to which I was ignorant prior to reading this. Read in July 2009."

Art of Manliness - 100 Must-Read Books (101 books items)

"An advanced politics lesson under the guise of a childish farm tale. The allegorical story representing Soviet totalitarianism simplifies social systems to show the endless corruption and manipulation that stems from the struggle for power. Also, it takes no small amount of courage to take jabs at Mr. Stalin himself."
